Dear Covenant Supporters:

I hope all of you are handling the snow and ice during this winter season.  I’m sure you’ll agree that the snow is beautiful as long as you can watch it from a warm place inside.

On January 10 Mission Tri-State will be kicking off its “Divine Encounter”—21 days of undistracted focus of deepening our relationship with Jesus Christ.  Our kickoff event will begin at 6:00 pm at Jefferson Avenue Church of God.  We are asking all those who attend to bring their favorite cup.  Your cup will play a symbolic role as to what we’ll be accomplishing in these 21 days.

During the “Divine Encounter” we will be holding “Fill My Cup” Wednesday night services January 13, 20 and 27 from 7:00 to 8:30. We’ll have age specific teaching on discovering one’s identity in Christ, learning how to hear the voice of God and understanding God’s call in your life to make a positive impact on your sphere of influence.  Children grades 1-6, “An Adventure in Kids’ Church”, and teens will be held in the main sanctuary at Jefferson Avenue Church of God.  The adults will be having their Wednesday services at the main sanctuary and preschoolers in various classrooms at Christ Temple.

Also during the “Divine Encounter” intercessory prayer will be held Thursday evenings, January 14, 21 and 28 at 7:00 pm at the Kenova Church of God, 1601 Maple Avenue and every morning at 7:00 to 8:30 am January 11 to January 31 at the First Congregational Church in Ceredo.

We will be closing out the “Divine Encounter” with an event entitled “Celebrating God’s Goodness” on January 31 at 6:00 pm hosted at Christ Temple, 2400 Johnstown Road.  In this service we will be hearing and sharing testimony of God’s workings during the “Divine Encounter”.  We’ll be praising God with thanksgiving for His fresh revelation to those involved.

If you would like to participate in this “Divine Encounter”, prayer guides are available through all participating churches or feel free to contact our office, and we’ll be happy to mail you one.  Our number is 304-453-3151.

In Ashland, Kentucky, Mission Tri-State is working closely with the Ashland pastors launching an intercessory prayer team.  This prayer team will be interceding for greater unity for the Body of Christ in the Ashland area.  If you feel you might be interested in participating in this lay intercessory team, feel free to call our office at 304-453-3151 or contact Johnny Riley at 606-408-6322.

Another service that Mission Tri-State offers is providing prayer for the Huntington City Council Meetings.  At each of these meetings we have a lay intercessor accompanied by one of our participating pastors.  At each City Council Meeting, we not only begin the City Council Meeting with prayer, but these two individuals remain throughout the council meeting praying for God’s guidance and direction.  Since we started several years ago, many have commented on the improved spirit of cooperation that has manifested through these meetings.

Again, we’d like to thank you for your willingness to be a part of what God is doing through this ministry.  It is evident as we see God answer so many prayers that He is responding to the faith of those who have been called to be a part of this movement.  We also thank you for your generous donations that make it possible to continue this ministry of uniting and mobilizing the Body of Christ for communitywide revival throughout the Tri-State area.  May God bless you richly.

Yours in Christ’s service,

Michael J. Greider
